Day 24: Pleasing Aromas

Acts 10:1-4- "At Caesarea there was a man named Cornelius, a centurion of what was known as the Italian Cohort, a devout man who feared God with all his household, gave alms generously to the people, and prayed continually to God. About the ninth hour of the day he saw clearly in a vision an angel of God come in and say to him, "Cornelius." And he stared at him in terror and said, "What is it, Lord?" And he said to him, "Your prayers and your alms have ascended as a memorial before God.

I know we often look at how prayer benefits our lives and what we gain from it. How often do we think of what and how God feels about our prayer? He tells Corneliu
s his prayer has come up for a memorial before God. God accepts our prayer as a memorial or an offering. In Genesis 8:20-21, the Bible says that "Noah built an altar to the LORD and took some of every clean animal and some of every clean bird and offered burnt offerings on the altar. And when the LORD smelled the pleasing aroma, the LORD said in his heart, "I will never again curse the ground because of man..." Noah's offering to God seems to remind Him of the reason He created man and the joy that we bring him when we recognize Him. How awesome is it to know that we bring joy to God when we seek him in prayer?!?

Comments:
Thank you for this Brandon! When I think of the awesome power of God and the sacrifice He gave us and then read these wonderful words, it makes me want to pray without ceasing (as well as put my words into action) and bring Him as much joy as possible.
